Hi there, and welcome to the show. I am so honored to have with us today's guest, Bonia Lim Bonna has been a spiritual acupuncturist and energy coach for over 30 years. During this time, she developed the Chai Mastery System, a unique method for unlocking the body's. Innate wisdom. This transformative approach helps individuals clear energetic blockages and connects more deeply with themselves grounded in energy awareness, somatic work, and meditation. This program empowers individuals to clear, energetic blockages, align with their life goals and thrive. As a result, they're able to achieve both personal and professional breakthroughs. Welcome to the show, Bonia. I'm so excited to have you. Thank you. Thank you, Jennifer. Jennifer, for having me. You are so welcome. Well, we were just chatting off air that you have been living in Sedona for 30 years, you said? No, 20 years. 20 years. Oh, what an incredible blessing. So tell me what brought you to Sedona. So, of course I've been practice for 30 years. For the first 10 years I was in New York City. Wow. Yeah. And I went through, many things there, including nine 11. And, on the day of nine 11, I al always in depth thought that I, someday when I retire, I'll move to Sedona and to do my spiritual work and really dive into spiritual aspect of the healing that my family has been practicing. But even like that kind of. Everything stops in your life. And also I lost some friends through that event and I remember this distinct moment walking down the street. I was passing the Madison Square Garden and I had two drinks in my hands and I just stopped middle of there and people are just passing by. And I was thinking like, what am I waiting for? What am I waiting for? To have or get or pro, to do. And I realized I was just waiting for something to happen in my life rather than me making it happen. And one of the thing was that if I want to, spiritual work that I've been always wanted to do. And I also share the knowledge that I have learned in my family and I've been wearing, okay, I might do that when I retire in Sedona. that's when I made a decision that I'm going to move to Sedona. That's incredible. What an impactful moment and what a great lesson for everyone to learn is. You do create your own life and you are that co-creator. And sometimes we do, we wait for the sign or we wait for one more thing because we're uncomfortable with taking that leap. Mm-hmm. That is going to bring everything that you've probably ever wanted so much sooner to you. Yeah. Isn't that true? We are all waiting for something. Mm-hmm. The right time. We are waiting for the right person to come into our lives. We are waiting for the right amount of money to have. We are waiting for, money, place and chance to do things, then we end up just waiting till we die. Exactly. And the key is, is why are we waiting to live when we're here to live and to thrive? So. Talk to me about your family because you are third generation within a healing family so tell me what that's been like for you growing up with that. What have you learned? How has that been ingrained within you to now you bring it to your clients? Yeah, well, I, we have many healers within my family, and I don't really have much interaction except of course my mom. I was apprentice to her like since I was seven years old without realizing I was apprenticing. I remember the first time that I did acupuncture was on her. I was around seven years old and there are certain areas, parts that she couldn't reach and she asked me to do the acupuncture on her and I knew exactly what to do and she was really shocked. I. By how I was administrating and working with the, acupuncture. And she asked me, how do you know this? And I just figured like,'cause I've been watching since I was baby, what, how, what she's doing. But I more, more, I. Do my work more, I realize, I feel like it's, it's kind of in, you know, in my blood, in our family. And, she has been the biggest teacher. I says she's my birth girl, my teacher, and best friend. And, she passed away last year. It's been a, it's going on a year. That's when. After she passed away, that's when I really decide to really share this with the whomever crossed my path. Oh, well first, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. What an incredible blessing that she's been to you and now lives on through you. Yes, definitely she is, she's a blessing in so many ways, and I'm realizing more and more after she passed on, I wish that, I wish I got to appreciate them more. And of course, we all have that regrets. Right, right. And so this is the practice that you've developed in Sedona. So are you doing more in person, do you do virtual work? Tell me about how you are helping clients. Mostly virtually. And it came up, this part of it, big part of it came about through my own experience of my own journey of, going through, certain conditions that I had. I had a lot of gastrointestinal issues when I was young. I had a depression. I. Since I was high school, I remember even my counselor suggest me to see a therapist and get a medication, get some medication, because I was just deeply depressed and I didn't even know what depression was back then. And we did. My family didn't really talk about it. In my grad school is when I decided that I'm gonna do something about this. Either I take the route of taking medication, going to see doctor, or, one of the doctors actually mentioned that this, I have a very low chance of. Healing the condition that I have. If I get better at some point, I still have to deal with this for the rest of my life. And I decided to do the things that my mom always suggest me to do, just to just meditate. But I incorporated one of the thing, meditation and movement. And I believe the movement is key ingredient in the part of the healing that I went through. But also one of the things that I also recommend to other people, when I say movement can be anything. It can be dancing, it can be swimming, it can be just playing tennis. It doesn't matter. But doing the consistent base, it is definitely, important ingredient in the healing process. At this, at the time I did meditation and many martial arts, Tai Chi, Qigong, and TaeKwonDo. My brother and I used to run a, martial arts school in New York City, three blocks away from Madison Square Garden. I don't remember how, when it was, I remember this moment that. In my meditation, I saw this like Bo, you know when you go to a restaurant or McDonald's or anywhere, you see this menu on the Yes. Right? Mm-hmm. Right? And you pick shoes and ask the cash, like, this is what I want, this is what I want, this is what I wanna eat. Right? I saw very clearly that there's many different emotions, many different thoughts that's available for us. But when you are accustomed and when you're used to a certain way, a certain experience, you keep choosing the same emotion over and over, or same thought over and over. And I realized that's what I've been doing. And at the time I, I saw that there's array of other emotions and thoughts that was available for me, and I realized I wasn't choosing those. I kept choosing this, you know, like. So choosing what you were comfortable with. Exactly. Choosing what you knew, right. Regardless of how it made you feel, because at the end of the day, it's what you knew. So you were comfortable. So even if you were uncomfortable, it was still comfortable. Exactly. Mm-hmm. Exactly. You put your hand on the stove, it burned you, but that's what you used to, so you keep putting it, putting your hand there. So it almost feels like that. I made a conscious decision to choose different emotion and different thought, but it still took some time because I was so used to doing this, and meditation definitely helped me going to deeper level of switching and changing that pattern. And I think it took me two and a half months or almost three months to reverse all the symptoms that I have with in my body right now. I'm at right now, I'm at 55. I'm much more healthier now than when I was in my twenties and thirties. That's amazing. That's wonderful. Yes. So do you feel that the root of, do you feel that the root of that all comes? Because I know that, you always talk about mastering the chai, mastering your chai. Do you feel chi, excuse me, chai. I am thinking like tea. No people not tea. We're going, you are Q. You need your qi. So is that where you're speaking? We need to master our qi. Aligning inside. Is that part of that process? Yes, we are made out of qi. We have a qi running through our body, and there is a very specific pathway within the body. I don't know if you've ever seen this, meridian man or acupuncture man, with all the points and the lines in the body, that's the pathway of Qi running through, moving through your body and along these channels there are 365 acupuncture points. Wow numbers, matches with the days in a year because each point, it has a correlation each day in a year, and also date of birth, the time that you're born. Have all this connection to what's going on in, in your body. But we're not gonna go too deep into that. You can get Oh, but yet, wait for a moment here. Hold on. You just opened up a whole rabbit hole. I love acupuncture. I've had it done for so long. What you just said just blew me away. There are 356 points. 3 6, 5 Oh because it coincides with each day. And then there are specific points for each person based on when they were born, the date and the time, right? Mm-hmm. I'm telling you, I'm 52 years old. No one has ever told me those two pieces of information. I find that to be crucial information when dealing with someone. Yeah. I realized there's a lot of crucial and important information than even my teachers didn't really instill in teach me especially the connection between the emotion organs. I. What's going on in the body. Everything you feel, everything you think affects our body. Literally the flow of the energy flow of the tree in the body gets affected by how you think and how you feel. One good example is, kidneys and bladder. The channel, the kidney and blood and its emotion is fear. And the bladder channels runs the back of the body along the spine. Okay? This is why when you're on the lot of fear, we jokingly say, I have a chill going down my spine. Wow. A lot of things that people, we say it's really based on how we feel in the body. And we don't really make that correlation because, you know, we just go throughout the day and just, we make comments. But why would we say that? Right, right. Where did that come from? It came from somewhere because you feel something within your body. When you're under a lot of fear, your kidneys and bladder channels start to get blocked. And many of those points actually are, is are on around your waist. Yeah. In the backside. If you suffer from chronic back pain. That's not one other area that you can look into. It's not that you are a fearful person, but whatever might have happened in the past, it gets a store in your body. Right At the cellular level. Yeah. So I have a question for you then I. Because a lot of people, I say a great portion of the population, as you mentioned, has stomach issues. IBS, digestion something, and now yes, we can attribute it to the food is different. It's not how when we grow up there's a lot more going on. But when we look at and, and I'm like you, I believe that every dis-ease in the body comes from an emotional suppression that we have chosen not to work through. Acknowledge, so on and so forth. When you are looking through your experience at the stomach, at digestion upset in general, what, what immediately do you go, oh, that's because A, B, and C is most likely going on with that person? From the get go. Digestive area has a lot of connection to stomach and spleen channel and its emotion is worry. So this is how it came about is when I start practicing acupuncture, I've known about this information and I've talked about this with my mom, and she always bring. Talk to me about spiritual aspect, a spiritual aspect of what's going on in the body, one of the easiest way to talk to people about is asking them about their emotion and sharing this piece of information. So the back pain I just share in the beginning of my practice 30 years ago, I would just share simply with my clients what I know is. The channel that's connected to this pain that you're suffering is, has a connection to fear. I'm just throwing this information for you to just think about and contemplate and every single time that'll share with me their story and what has happened, what kind of event that created fear in them. It could be 10 years ago, five years ago, one year ago, one month ago. Yeah, the just areas connected to worry. We all have a certain fear. We all worry about things. The thing about is that our bodies remember everything that we have gone through. Everything that they, we experience. We not consciously think about it every single moment, but our bodies remember every, everything. Some of them pass through. Some of them stay based on the energy that we process. The science has been proven that when we have emotion, including us and all different animals, it passes through within 90 seconds. Have you heard of that? I have heard of that, yes. And I'm fascinated by it. Yes. If you just let it be, it just pass through it. So animals are very good at doing this. You know, you have to see like these two animals fighting that tried to kill each other. After a few seconds, they shake it away and they just move away from each other peacefully. Like nothing ever happened. But humans, we are the only one we hold onto things. We harbor. Our feelings, our thoughts, and the hatred or anger, whatever that might be, through our thoughts. When we keep, think about this energetically, stores in the body and it creates a blockages in the meridian, blockages in the meridians. What acupuncture does is finding those specific point to unblock it. But over the years, what I find out is that I feel like I've learned. From a great acupuncturist with, not from my mom, and I feel like I do my best to do the work, but oftentimes people come back with the same symptoms. They're, well doing really well, and then come back. I found out that it was because they go back to same lifestyle, same relationship, same work environment, same settings of the life that they have, and they go back to the same patterns of behaviors and thoughts and then that energy gets blocked again. Or that energy gets, blocked much, densely within the body. So unless we go to the heart of the matter, we are not really healing the root of the issue. Is that how your mastery system is different and specializes with your work because you're getting to the root cause? Exactly, exactly. I heal myself through this process, but. For, I think more than 10 years or so, I had to work really hard to be able to share this and also be able to replicate in other people. I know what it felt like, I know what happened to me, but also being able to share in other people to experience it, took a while to do that. And, so Tree Master is basically com composes somatic work, mindset work, and meditation. That is amazing. So only if someone gets to see you in person, do they get to have the acupuncture? So we have to, I think we all need a little trip to Sedona is what I'm hearing. Yeah, so I have like almost a half and half right now. Half of my clients actually come here in Sedona to get treatment from me in person and half all we do online sessions. And CHI Mastery system is not only about really working on physical issues, but also about reaching any goals that you set out to reach in your life. Because even the blockages is. Within the body, if you wanna be a CEO of a company, if you wanna, create a, certain business or you wanna miss somebody or anything that you wanna achieve in your life, the blockage is also resides in the body. So it's the same process of removing the blockers. You can be able to reach your goal. How do you know if someone has a certain blockage? Say you're in a session with, say we're having a session, and I'm saying, okay, I'm looking at manifesting more abundance in my life. To be able to expand and move forward so I can serve more people. It's actually very simple. You will know. There's a process of certain deep meditation that we do. It's so clear. It's like right there. Pretty much everybody sees it very clearly. Oftentimes it's internal blockages, sometimes external blockages. One of my, clients, you know, his goal is have better relationship with his daughter. Yes. He, according to, he, based on his words, horrible relationship with their daughter, external blockage list, he's in the military, so he has hard, he doesn't stay home. A lot of times he gets, goes to other countries, other states a lot. So he cannot be in ho at home physically. So that was ex one of the, external blockage. One of the internal blockages is that he doesn't know how to communicate'cause because he hasn't learned that,'cause his parents also didn't communicate with him very well. But one of the main thing was that he has a fear of his daughter, not being proud of him, but it's not something that I saw. He saw it through the meditation that you took him through. When you go under, under the deep place of unconsciousness, you get to see it. Everyone sees it. That's fascinating. Now are multiple things coming in? If there's multiple or are you, is one session you're solely working on, maybe one attribute that you're looking to change or expand upon? Depends on what goal you come in with. Oftentimes people come in with the very big goal, I wanna create a.$20 billion. Oh yes. That is big. That is big. And it takes about short three months, it even six months, to really, create a shift within yourself. So my program is usually six months. And then how do you, how are you working with people so that our community understands? Is that a once a month? Is that multiple times during the month? I. Every week, three weeks in a row, one week. It is a integration week. So three weeks in one integration, one for six months. That's wonderful. What an incredible, incredible opportunity, to work with your system. I'm so excited for you. I'm so excited for our whole community to be able to dive in and hopefully get to work with you on this. What would you say when you're looking back over all of the years that you've been practicing personally and the work when you're working with your mom, what has been that biggest aha moment that perhaps you've had along the way through the spirit spiritual journey of your own and through the work that you're doing that how important it is to trust myself? You know, those little inklings, those drops that came along the way and which happens to everybody. We ignore it because we don't trust our intuition and we don't trust our instinct. But it has been right all along. Our body is a very important, tool to have because it constantly tell us what's going on and what to do, what's best for us. Oriental Medicine is based on two major theories in Indian Young Theory and five element theory. Five element would Wood, earth, metal. Fire. water. Base it can affect, applies to everything in the water. It applies to the direction. East side is connected to wood. And it's, its organs are liver and gallbladder. If you have a liver gallbladder issue, your east side of the house needs to be cleaned out. Interestingly, if you have a liver, gallbladder issue, your liver, your east side of the house, usually quite messy or have a clutter. Interesting, just cleaning that out energetically or doing some feng shui'cause it's based on feng shui, and changing. It affects your body and vice versa. And also liver and gallbladder. It's connected to wood and it's color is green, and earth's color is yellow. When we learn to listen to our body. When you get to trust to listen to our bodies, we do things very instinctively and intuitively. When you get up in the morning, when you open up the closet, you don't know why you wanna wear this green shirt that you don't usually wear. But our left brain comes in rationalized no, that's dumb. You, you don't, that's not your color. You shouldn't wear that. So is when you just follow your intuition, you just go, go with it. Especially some things just come to you. And also five LM is also based, can be applied to taste as well. So sweet, salty, and so on. So when you in tune our body, our bodies also tell us what would be best for us each day and each meal. I'm so fascinated by this and I keep hearing, do you remember what West is like? I know for me, like I love facing West, west is part of my success. Energy feng shui wise. And I have to see a sunset, I have to, that's my completion of the day. When I don't have that, I feel off. Ideally, I like the sunrise and the sunset, but there's this pool about the west and I always find it fascinating. And that's, spleen and the heart. And heart and pericardium. Heart. And pericardium it's fire. That is very fascinating. I, yeah, I had, how do I wanna say it? A heart situation, about seven or eight years ago that had come up. Mm-hmm. When I was out west, it was very interesting how it just happened and I've always, my energies are drawn to the west. Even though I grew up in the east, I don't resonate with that anymore. I'm cl like I, the closer I get to the western part of the United States, the more calm I tend to be. Mm. Yeah. It's fascinating. Yeah. And it's also of, or so that's the time of the day too. A two, starting from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM is long time. And the five to 7:00 AM is a large intestine in 10 time, and I found that a lot of my clients, one of whatever the symptoms they might be going through, it always affect that time of the day or you wake up middle of the night or that specific time of the day, and then organ connection and the the element connection there as well. I feel like you need to write a book and there needs to be a section so that I could go through it and go, oh, I woke up at three o'clock last night. I know intuitively, that's when the veil is thinnest. Also, it applies to this organ, which brings me to this subconscious thought. I think this is a fabulous book for you. Okay. I think this would be like such a Bible kind of book, you know, to be able to open up and go, oh, the West means this, this time means this organ, this color. There isn't a book like that. There's, you can do the fe shui here. You could do organ and emotions here and affirmations, but there's nothing. This culminating. Okay. And your system is about awakening the whole of the body. I think this would be phenomenal for you. Okay. I would think about that. I just always thought this information has been handed down to us for generations for by the last 5,000 years. But perhaps people might to, might need to hear this in more, simpler or simpler. Yes. Digestive way. Exactly. Like Louise, I don't know if Louise Hayes book. You open it up. If you're having a pain, you can open it up. Look at the pain area. There's a theoretical reason as to why, and then there's the affirmation to help you release it. Mm-hmm. But, but everything that you're describing, I just think is so important. There's bits and pieces yes. Everywhere, but there isn't that one place where someone can go to. And I, I only know because I work with so many empaths and highly sensitive people, and they always ask me for something similar, but in our aspect of the world, and I think if you did a book like that, wow. It could be so impactful. Mm-hmm. Yes. In layman terms for everyone because it's just, it's not there. Okay. Yeah, I think it would be huge for you. I really do. That might've been the download intuitive messaging coming through, by the way. Okay. Wink, wink. I love this. And especially going and sitting and creating this in a vortex in Sedona. I just don't think it gets any better than that. Yeah. Ultimately, what I wanna share with the people is about. Just going inside, there's a tools within us and if you just, we just get to listen to our body bodies'cause it's constantly talking to us and what to wear, what color of clothes, what kind of taste, food that might be more harmonious for you for today, which direction to go to, how to arrange your furnace in the house to bring more chain to the body. It's constantly speaking to us. Oh my gosh. I want this book. I wanna pay for the advanced copy. Please. Yes. So much. Yes. I'm not even kidding you. Because everything that you're saying is so important and to understand, and especially in our day and time right now where there's so many distractions out there. Everybody wants to come inward or people within our circle, we all wanna come inward. We all wanna align and simplify. Yeah. And be grounded. You're offering it all in such an amazing mastery system, and now we could have the Mastery book. Well, thank you. Thank you. I really do. I have such goosebumps about this for you. I'm so excited. I, my brain is already like thinking and trying to figure things out, so I'm happy to help you with it. I'm happy. I, have helped quite a few people that have come on the podcast. With the next steps that they were going in their businesses. And one actually happened to be an author and she came to me and there was a piece of the book that she was missing the puzzle. And we did a session together and there were three books suddenly that came outta nowhere. It was really cool. So I love being able to share and help and this just feels so impactful and so important right now because, as you know, we're all, we just wanna ground. There's so much going on, and if we can begin to look simpler at our lives and understand how important it is to declutter and understand what the direction of the west means, or why I am craving so many sweets today, I. Why are you craving comfort food today? It's probably a very rational situation, you know, a rational thing, but we don't always pay attention like you're saying to our bodies. So what is one piece of advice, Vanya, that you would give to our listeners to help them come back into themselves? To be able to come home to themselves? Our thoughts are not us. It's like the clouds water under the bridge is just passing through. And as long as we don't do three things, we don't, trying to get rid of it, if especially negative thoughts or we're trying to not, try not to suppress it and try not to identify with it. As long as we don't do those three things, it will pass by. Okay, so let's review. We don't wanna identify with it if it's a negative thoughts. And it's like impacting you in this very reactive and strong way. Just don't do those three things. Don't try to get rid of it. Just leave it alone. Don't try to suppress it.'cause we sometimes actively suppress it just doesn't feel good. Or you identify with it if it's a negative thought like I am ugly, like you identify with that. Okay. And let it be okay. Because sometimes I'll go into say I'm having an anxious moment, and I'll sit with myself and try to peel it back and go, are you really anxious? Or are you really excited and you're not breathing? Are you, do you think that would be identifying with it or is that an okay way to try to unpack it? I think that's okay. Way to, okay. Okay. I think that's important for everyone to understand because right now I think there's so many people that are afraid to do the wrong thing. When it comes to working with their body or manifesting in their subconscious, and I just want people to be okay with their vessel and their temple and honor it and love it. Definitely, definitely giving some time with ourselves is always good and important. Being still, as you know, that's the most powerful thing we can do for ourselves. But during the day, throughout the day, you have to take care of so many tasks, and this thought is to keep bombard bombarding at you and you just let go of those. With those three you will pass. But if we give, we do any of these three, we give power to that thought. And that's then where the potential energetic block comes in. Yeah, because now we're holding onto it. Exactly. Now let's become a new handbag. Okay. We don't need a new handbag. No, no. Then it ended up creating blockages in your meridian system and block one of those 365 points. That in and of itself needs to be a book. We're gonna have to do a whole podcast around that. And the acupuncture of when you were blows, my mind still blows. Never heard those two things. There's so much that I feel that is so powerful within you that the world needs to hear. On such a big platform, and I'm so honored that you chose to come on the show and be a part of our community and start with our community. It means so much to me. Thank you. I'm honored to be on your podcast. Thank you. Thank you. To be here. Yes. Well, as we begin to close out the show, I always ask this one question, what is maybe one thing that no one knows about Banya? I don't think it has anything to do with the healing that I do. That's okay. But when I was young, especially in grad school, I used to crash wedding. In New York. New York. So those people, oh, I love this. Who had weddings? Maybe in the photos I might be shown in the wedding. Photos I was not invited. Did you go and like eat cake and drink the champagne? I did all of it. We should be best friends. That's phenomenal. I love that. Oh, well part of reason that I did was I told you that I had a depression. And I wanted to be around people who are happy and one of the best place to go. It was a wedding I. Yeah, everybody's happy. Second place. Second place is airport, especially international airport arriving section. When you feel down, these are the two things. Crashing wedding is something that I don't usually recommend, although I did it. The second one is just going to the arriving section in international, you know, area and just sit there and watch. Loved one unite. Oh. That just fills your heart. Fills your soul. Yeah. Yes. I used to love going there, just I cry with them like I'm complete strangers, but I just love people, loved ones reunite and hugging and kissing. It was so beautiful to watch and it just filled my heart. Those are two really cool things to share that no one may have known about you. I love that. The wedding crasher thing, I think we should bring it back. I used to be a wedding planner for a long time, and acro, I loved it. Obsessed, like I love planning a party now. I'm obsessed with decorating my house anytime I can for any celebration like you say, because it makes you happy. You know, I'm the girl that as soon as Hallmark plays their first Christmas movie in October. My house gets decorated. I wanna stretch out that happiness in that season, so I'm with you on that. But yeah, we should crash some weddings in Sedona. It's harder to do here, but I, I'll try once, but didn't work out. Oh, no. Well, maybe we can bring it back time. Oh my gosh, you're fabulous. You know, for me alone to not those two things, like I'm still blown away. I'm gonna be googling today. I'm gonna get on my chat GPT and start. Learning more.'cause I love that. I love to learn something new every day and our community does, and that's what's so important right now. So thank you for that. And thank you for coming and sharing your beautiful energy. Thank you.
